Kinethiq and Strava

How Kinethiq uses Strava

Kinethiq connects to Strava so members with BikeLink or BikeKNX devices can upload completed indoor cycling rides from Kinethiq to their own Strava account.

Each athlete must connect their own Strava account through Strava OAuth. Kinethiq only uploads rides for users who have chosen to connect Strava.

Kinethiq does not scrape Strava, does not access public athlete data, and does not display one athlete’s Strava data to another user. Kinethiq is not developed by, sponsored by, or affiliated with Strava. Strava is used only to let members upload their own completed Kinethiq rides to their own Strava account.

What gets uploaded

After a Kinethiq ride is completed, Kinethiq may upload an indoor cycling activity to the connected athlete’s Strava account.

The uploaded activity may include:

  • Ride name
  • Start time
  • Elapsed time
  • Distance estimate
  • Class name or ride type
  • Estimated power, cadence, and calories where available

Kinethiq uploads these activities as indoor or virtual rides.

Permissions requested

Kinethiq requests the Strava permission needed to upload completed Kinethiq rides:

activity:write

Kinethiq does not request broad read access to your Strava activity history.

Disconnecting Strava

Users can disconnect Strava at any time from Your Profile.

When Strava is disconnected, Kinethiq stops uploading rides to Strava and revokes the Strava authorization where possible.
